Christmas with Lunchbox Love Notes

It’s Christmas Eve!  I thought I’d do a last minute holiday roundup of the sandwich lunches I’ve done in the past couple of weeks.  Besides some Christmas cheer, I included Say Please’s Lunchbox Love Notes in each of my holiday lunches.  Lunchbox Love Notes are some of my favorite lunch accessories.  Both my 4 and 6 year olds are reading now so they love these notes year-round.  They not only make notes for every holiday and season, but each love note includes a fun bit of trivia or a joke on the other side.  They even make them for girlfriends, teachers and almost anyone else you can think of.

Bentoriffic's Frosty in ELB

These sandwiches were all made with cookie cutters pressed into Rudi’s Organic Whole Wheat bread. For this lunch’s snowmen Frosty’s hats were made with the heel of the bread.  They have dried cranberry noses. In the top of the Easy Lunchboxes containers are red seedless grapes and mango slices.  I love that it takes me 2 extra seconds to throw in some encouragement that makes her smile each day during lunchtime.

Bentoriffic Sandwich Elves in ELB

These 3 little elves have Daiya dairy free cream cheese and raspberry jam inside.  Above their heads are organic raspberries in an Easy Lunchbox container, and in the top are green seedless grapes, grape tomatoes and sugar snap peas with some words of encouragement on her Lunchbox Love note.

Bentoriffic's Craisin Rudolph in ELB

Rudolph was pressed with a vintage plastic cookie cutter.  Using Rudi’s Organic whole wheat bread and filled with WOWbutter (nut free) and raspberry jam.  His nose is a dried cranberry.  The top of her Easy Lunchboxes container is filled with red seedless grapes, mango pieces and Christmas cupcake picks.  My 4 year old can be a bit of a stinker so these Lunchbox Love Notes are a great reminder to continue her great behavior and make good choices while she’s away.

Three Santas in ELB

Three Santas in and ELB, and an interesting face that Disney decorates over 1500 trees at Christmas time!  The facts and fun trivia on these lunch cards is always entertaining, and my kids will often remember it at the end of the school day! In her Easy Lunchboxes with the note are a raw fig treat, red grape tomato pieces, a peeled clementine and chopped d’anjou pears.

Jumping Reindeer in ELB

More jumping reindeer sandwiches for holiday fun.  Included are Sunbutter and jam pressed reindeer, raw fig treats, a peeled clementine and cut pear pieces with a Lunchbox Love Note for a little extra cheer.

Ornaments and singing Santa clementine in ELB

Ornaments and mini trees are the last sandwich lunch filled with Sunbutter and cranberry butter.  I decorated a clementine as a little Santa saying, “Ho, Ho, Ho!” and raspberries as the fresh fruit of the day.

Food fun for TV

Late last week I got a phone call from my friend inviting me to fill in for a food segment at the local Sarasota ABC affiliate.  Of course, I said yes, not having a clue what I was getting myself into. But the outgoing, fun-loving girl in me said yes quickly.  I spent the rest of Continue Reading ╗

Dolphins and Sandy Shells

On the sandy shores of Scout’s PlanetBox, the Big Dipper container (included in the┬áPlanetBox Complete…lid not shown) holds a serving of “Seashells in the Sand”. I picked this recipe up from one of my favorite cookbook authors, Nava Atlas. I toss cooked Trader Joe’s Whole Wheat Couscous (prepared with sea salt and coconut oil) with Continue Reading ╗
